Christmas Season

I feel like the Christmas Season is finally here. I used to adamantly say no Christmas music before Thanksgiving. I still feel that there should be some stations that choose not to play Christmas music. I think the resentment I feel towards pre-Thanksgiving Christmas music is really directed to the annoying, secular songs that are over played on every radio station. As long as I can still choose to listen to something else, I guess early Christmas music is okay.

This past weekend I went to two of the most well-known, traditional BYU productions. I went to Christmas Around the World, the folk dance show, on Friday and A Celebration of Christmas, the choir concert, on Saturday. I really enjoyed both performances. Christmas Around the World had amazing dancing and costumes. I like how they tie in a little bit of the Christmas tradition from each region. That way, even though the dances aren't necessarily Christmas dances, the performance still conveys the spirit of Christmas as celebrated in different places.

The choir concert was wonderful. I was really excited when I bought my ticket, especially when I found out I got the second to last ticket available for all three performances. The concert had some of my favorite Christmas songs, and some I have never heard before. I was glad I could go and experience such a wonderful, musical concert.

Then on Sunday there was the First Presidency's Christmas Devotional. I feel like the Christmas Season is finally here. Now, if only it would snow again...
