Music! Music! Music!

I just love how versatile music is. No matter my mood, there is always a song that seems to fit. There is always a song that relates to my conversations or situations. I don't know what I would do without music. There is something so soothing in finding solace in a song.

Music has a way of bridging differences and finding common ground. It is so amazing when I make a musical connection. It is always fun to mention a song in conversation and see who has heard of it. There is almost an instant camaraderie when someone else knows the Safety Kids or Sons of Provo or a random song about Twin Falls.

Music just seems to help me with whatever I am feeling. I don't know what it is about music, but it is my lifeblood. It can lift me up when I am feeling down, pump me up when I want to dance, comfort me when I feel alone, and drown out my thoughts when I am frustrated.

More than anything, music helps me feel God's love for me. My favorite part of church service is almost always the hymns songs. There is something so universal, so clear and simple, about hymns. I feel such peace when singing hymns. To me, there is little better than singing a hymn or reading over the lyrics from a hymn when I need comfort.

I guess, just all around, music is pretty amazing. I constantly have a song running through my head, and I really don't mind.
